Navigating Change

As a reflective practitioner, it is within me to consider my work, both past at present. I use this time to consider what I have learned professionally and personally.  I have always worked hard to maintain and improve knowledge and there is no time like the present to challenge this.

From an HR perspective, the legislation is changing under the Labour Government.  It takes me back to my days as HR Manager at MB Inspection and then Aberdeen College (now NESCOL) and how we navigated the raft of changes which engulfed us in the early 2000’s.  Of course, there have been many changes to employment legislation since, and my duties as Group HR Manager at Seatronics also meant a focus on global legislation.  It was never dull, that’s for sure!

However, our successes in navigating such changes were due to understanding the changes, working together and maintaining ongoing but effective communication. We did this as a TEAM and I am so grateful for my colleagues’ support. Our aim was to ensure our employees were consulted with compassion, they understood the changes and were supported to navigate the new horizons.  We also worked hard to take account of holistic needs ensuring our focus on employee wellbeing remained a priority throughout.  We did this with knowledge gained from experience and research-based evidence.

Today, as HR and Wellbeing Consultants at Moonstir Ltd and as Psychotherapists/Coaches at Moonstir Therapy Ltd, we still work collaboratively to support our clients. When changes occur, we can feel concerned about our future.  Some may thrive on the excitement of what lies ahead, some may worry about the unknown and become anxious whilst others can seemingly cope with minimal difficulty.  Whatever you are faced with, talking about how these changes are impacting you now will help.

Whatever path you are on, whether you are seeking support with change in a business setting or whether you are wishing to discuss how change is impacting you personally, we have the skills and knowledge to support you.  Please get in touch to find out more.
